About this collection

The new recruit has entered the Compound, and the household requires proper preparation. This kitten essentials collection brings together food, treats, toys, beds, feeding equipment, litter and trays for the first weeks and months of life with a young cat.

Start with the essentials your kitten will use every day: age-appropriate food, fresh water, an accessible litter tray, a secure sleeping place and safe opportunities to play. Add products gradually rather than overwhelming the room, and give the kitten time to explore each item at its own pace.

A practical kitten starter list

Choose kitten food that matches the stated age and feeding instructions, small or stable bowls, a comfortable bed, an easy-entry litter tray and several safe toys with different play styles. Keep wand toys and loose components stored away after supervised play, and inspect all toys regularly for damage.

Questions about this collection

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I buy before bringing a kitten home?

Prepare food, water bowls, litter and a tray, a bed or hiding space, a carrier and a few safe toys. A scratching surface is also useful from the beginning.

Does a kitten need special food?

Yes. Food labelled for kittens is formulated for growth and development. Follow the product feeding guide and ask your veterinarian about individual needs.

How many toys does a kitten need?

A small rotation is more useful than a crowded pile. Offer toys for chasing, pouncing, chewing and interactive play, then rotate them to maintain interest.
