The Catstages Kitty Lickin’ Layers Fun Feeder is a three-tier interactive puzzle designed to make meals and treats more engaging. Cats spin the rotating layers to uncover food across more than 80 small compartments, encouraging paw use, investigation and natural foraging behaviour.

Puzzle difficulty: Level 2 (intermediate; practical store classification)

The feeder can hold approximately half a cup of dry food or one cup of wet food according to the supplied information. Begin with food placed in easy-to-reach areas and leave the layers partly aligned so your cat can learn how movement reveals the reward. Increase the challenge gradually rather than filling every compartment immediately.

Using Kitty Lickin’ Layers

Place the feeder on a stable, non-slip surface and supervise the first sessions. Count all food used in the puzzle as part of the daily allowance. After use, separate or rotate the layers as directed and clean every food-contact surface thoroughly. Remove the feeder if plastic cracks, parts become loose or your cat begins chewing the structure.

Continue the operation

Read our complete puzzle-feeder guide for the beginner-to-advanced framework. Cats that need an easier first step may prefer the Hunt ’N Swat Treat Tumbler; experienced operatives can progress to the Rainy Day Level 3 puzzle. For wet-food sessions, browse lickable cat treats.

A note from management

The Layered Operation

Intelligence rarely presents itself all at once.

Each level reveals another lead, another clue and, if your operative remains sufficiently determined, another reward.

Management reminds agents that investigating only the first layer has never solved a case.

Persistence is recommended.

So are snacks.

Materials/composition

Constructed from durable food-safe plastic.

Manufacturer states the product is BPA, PVC and phthalate free.

Toy performance

The rotating puzzle layers encourage natural hunting and foraging instincts while providing mental stimulation and slowing eating. The multiple hidden compartments create a rewarding challenge that helps reduce boredom and keeps indoor cats engaged during mealtimes.

How to use

  1. Add dry food, wet food or treats into the hidden compartments.
  2. Rotate the puzzle layers.
  3. Place on a flat surface.
  4. Allow your cat to search, paw and spin the layers to uncover rewards.
  5. Wash after use according to the manufacturer's instructions.
