Help your rescue earn money when supporters shop for their cats.
1. Earn 8% commission
Approved shelters and rescues earn 8% commission on qualifying product purchases made through their own tracked shopping link. Share it on social media, your website, newsletters or with your supporters.
Customers pay the normal price. There is no customer discount, joining fee, required purchase or posting quota.
How to join
Email servant@theapartmentcat.com with:
- Your organisation’s name
- Your contact person, role and email
- Your website or social media links, if you have them
- Where you work and a short description of your rescue work
- NPO, PBO or other registration details, if applicable
We review your email application first. If approved, we send you a Shopify Collabs invitation. Follow it to sign in or create your Shopify account, accept the offer and complete payout setup. You need to join Collabs to earn affiliate commission, but you do not need to open a Shopify store.
“Join the syndicate” at the bottom of the website is our customer newsletter. It is separate from this rescue application and Collabs registration.
Please do not send certificates or banking documents with your first application. If needed, we will arrange a secure private way to check your registration certificate, PBO/tax documents and organisation banking details. If you are not registered, tell us about your rescue work.
When do we pay commission?
Each commission waits 30 days to allow for cancellations and refunds. After that, Collabs adds it to our Shopify bill. Once the bill is paid and your Collabs payout setup is complete, Collabs processes your payment. Payment is not guaranteed exactly on day 30. Returns and refunds may reduce commission.
The Apartment Cat pays the commission and its Paystack and Collabs merchant fees. Your payout provider may charge separate fees, including currency conversion; we will explain the available payout method before you join.
2. Customer contributions — coming later
We are also preparing an optional contribution fund. Once it opens, customers will be able to give a small amount to help our approved rescue partners.
All approved rescue partners will be eligible for consideration. The Apartment Cat will decide how to share available funds according to need, such as food shortages, urgent vet bills and rescue emergencies. Payments will not be equal or guaranteed.
This fund is separate from commission. It is not collecting contributions yet. We will explain deductions and share records of payments when it starts. No donation tax certificates are promised.
