Rescue Partner Program Terms

Who can join?

Animal shelters and rescues may apply. We review each organisation. Registration details are requested where applicable; unregistered rescues may explain their work. Participation starts after approval, acceptance of your Collabs offer and completed onboarding.

Your commission

Your rate is 8% on qualifying referred product purchases across our products, tracked through your Collabs link or a supported tracking code. There is no customer discount. Cancelled, unpaid, fraudulent or fully refunded orders do not qualify. Returns and partial refunds may reduce commission.

Commission is calculated on eligible product sales after discounts and refunds. Shipping, taxes, duties, tips and contributions do not earn commission. Gift-card purchases do not qualify. Subscription commission applies to the first sale only. We will explain the platform calculation, eligible purchases and tracking rules in your offer before you join.

When you receive payment

Each commission waits 30 days to allow for cancellations and refunds. After that, Collabs adds it to our Shopify bill. Once the bill is paid and your Collabs payout setup is complete, Collabs processes your payment. Payment is not guaranteed exactly on day 30. Returns and refunds may reduce commission.

You must complete Collabs payout setup. We will confirm that your organisation’s authorised payee can use the supported payout method before you join. Currency conversion and fees charged directly by your payout provider may reduce the amount received. The Apartment Cat pays its Paystack order-processing and Collabs merchant fees; we do not deduct those merchant fees from your earned commission.

Sharing your link

Share on your social accounts, website, newsletters and permission-based community channels. Tell supporters that your rescue earns commission. There is no joining fee, required purchase or posting quota. Gifts, if separately agreed, are separate.

Do not use spam, misleading claims, coupon sites or paid brand-keyword ads. Commission depends on Collabs tracking. Purchases outside the tracking window or without the tracked link/code may not be credited. We will explain the referral window and link/code rules before you join.

Documents

If needed, we will privately request your registration certificate, PBO/tax documents and organisation banking details using an agreed secure channel. Do not upload them publicly or send them with your first application. Never send banking passwords or login details. NPO registration, PBO status and any authority to issue donation receipts are separate matters; we do not assume one proves another.

Separate contribution fund

The customer-contribution fund will start separately. It is not collecting money yet. All approved rescue partners will be eligible for consideration, but no fixed amount, equal share or regular payment is guaranteed. The Apartment Cat chooses allocations according to need. Partners may tell us privately about food shortages, vet bills and other urgent needs.

Contributions are not directed by affiliate links. Once the fund opens, the available amount will be contributions received less payment-processing fees and refunds. No additional administration fee is proposed. We will record allocations and share updates showing funds collected, fees, refunds, payments and remaining balance. Contribution payments are separate from Collabs commissions. No tax deduction or donation certificate is promised.

Ending the partnership or resolving a question

Either party may end participation by emailing written notice. Valid commission already earned remains subject to refunds, fraud checks and Collabs payment rules. We will explain changes to future rates or terms before they take effect.
