Food puzzles should begin at an achievable level. Place a few visible pieces on top before hiding them more deeply, and use food your cat already recognises. The mat is an enrichment tool rather than a substitute for measured feeding, so count the food used in the activity as part of the cat’s daily allowance.

Using Petstages puzzle feeders

Set the mat on a clean, non-slip surface and supervise the first sessions. Allow your cat time to investigate without moving paws or forcing participation. After use, remove crumbs and clean the product according to its care instructions. Store it dry to prevent odours and contamination.
