The sofa was not attacked.

That is Management's official position.

What occurred was a private disagreement between The Crown and an upholstered surface that had, allegedly, "shown weakness."

There were marks.
There was silence.
There was one armrest that no longer made eye contact.

Sticky Paws was introduced shortly after.

No threats.
No shouting.
Just transparent adhesive and the quiet return of consequence.

The Crown approached the scene.
Placed one paw on the protected area.
Paused.

A long pause.

Then withdrew the paw with the expression of someone who had just discovered paperwork.

The investigation changed direction immediately.

Management recommends placing an approved scratcher nearby. Not as a gesture of kindness. As a controlled outlet for criminal intent.

The furniture is not safe.
It is merely represented.

Tony reviewed the surface at dawn.

No fresh damage.
No confession.
No witnesses.

The Velvet Restraining Order remains in effect.

Sticky Paws helps protect restricted surfaces by making them less appealing to scratch. The transparent adhesive texture discourages cats from returning to treated areas, redirecting their attention without punishment.

Scratching is a normal, necessary feline behaviour. Cats scratch to maintain claw health, stretch their muscles and mark territory. The goal is not to eliminate scratching — it is to redirect it to appropriate surfaces.

For best results, use Sticky Paws alongside:

• A sturdy vertical scratching post
• A cardboard scratcher
• A horizontal scratcher
• A cat tree with sisal-wrapped posts
• Positive reinforcement when your cat uses approved scratching surfaces

• Use only as directed.
• Safe for cats and furniture when used as directed.
• Do not apply strips to your cat's body, paws or fur.
• Do not allow cats, children or pets to chew or ingest the strips.
• Not intended for animal or human consumption. If ingestion occurs, seek immediate medical or veterinary attention.
• Always test before use. Sticky Paws may damage certain surfaces, including wood finishes, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, microfiber and wallpaper.
• Remove promptly from any surface where it does not adhere properly or where it causes discolouration.

What are Sticky Paws Furniture Strips used for?

Sticky Paws Furniture Strips are designed to deter cats from scratching furniture, curtains, drapes, carpets and other compatible fabric surfaces. They work by making the surface less appealing to scratch.

How do Sticky Paws work?

The strips use a medical-grade adhesive that creates an unpleasant texture for cats when they attempt to scratch. Most cats will avoid the treated surface and redirect their scratching elsewhere.

How many strips are included?

Each package contains 24 strips. Two strips are mounted on each coloured base sheet.

What size is each strip?

Each individual strip measures approximately 11.75 × 1.75 inches / 29 × 4.5 cm.

Are the strips transparent?

Yes. The strips are transparent and designed to be discreet on most fabric surfaces.

Are they safe for cats?

Yes, Sticky Paws are safe for cats and furniture when used as directed. Do not apply to your cat's body, paws or fur. Not intended for consumption — if ingestion occurs, seek immediate veterinary attention.

Can I use them on any furniture?

Sticky Paws are suitable for compatible fabric surfaces. They may damage wood finishes, painted surfaces, leather, vinyl, microfiber and wallpaper. They may also be ineffective on surfaces treated with non-stick or stain-repellent products such as Scotchgard. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.

How often should I replace them?

For best results, replace the strips weekly.

Do I still need a scratching post?

Yes. Sticky Paws deters scratching on restricted surfaces but does not eliminate the instinct. Always provide an appropriate scratching outlet — a sisal post, cardboard scratcher or cat tree — alongside the strips for the best outcome.
