Every household contributes.

At the appointed hour, the servant approaches the dining district carrying the daily offering. No eye contact. No sudden movements. The edible assets are deposited into the Collection Plate, after which the servant withdraws to a respectful distance while the Crown conducts a private audit.

Contributions are compulsory.

The suggested donation is all of it.

The plate is low and wide because the Crown’s whiskers do not queue, bend or negotiate with crockery. The base remains where it is placed. This is not a feature. It has seen what happens when dinner moves without permission.

Five designs have been authorised because an institution of this importance cannot be seen conducting business in the same outfit every day.

Management insists this is an ordinary feeding bowl. That statement was prepared under supervision.

There is no ceremony.
There is no worship.
There is merely a scheduled transfer of edible assets from the working household to their rightful owner.

If the plate is returned empty, the offering has been accepted.

If anything remains, do not appeal.

The Crown has considered the matter.
