The bath was described as routine.

Management regrets the wording.

There is nothing routine about a cat realising the door is closed, the water is warm, and a towel has been waiting with intent.

The Crown assessed the scene.

Basin.
Bottle.
Human hands.

A trap, clearly.

PURL Regular Shampoo was selected for the ordinary file: regular washing, mild formula, rich lather, and the sort of clean coat that makes servants say unwise things like "look how soft you are."

Do not say this.

The Crown knows.

The shampoo contains liquid lanolin to soften and protect the skin and coat. The Crown contains suspicion, historical resentment, and one wet paw held slightly above the tiles for legal effect.

The wash proceeded.

The coat emerged clean.
The room did not.
The towel has requested reassignment.

Tony inspected the bathroom afterwards.

Fresh scent.
Wet footprints.
No apology.

The Routine Wash has been logged.

Routine remains disputed.
