The bath was cancelled.

Not officially.

Officially, the bath was "under review."

The Crown saw the towel, made a calculation, and disappeared into a location Management was not legally authorised to search.

A second option was required.

PURL Grooming Powder was introduced for dry operations.

No water.
No basin.
No dramatic betrayal involving lukewarm taps.

Just a light sprinkle, a brush, and the quiet removal of suspicious coat activity.

The Crown tolerated this.

Not approved.
Not welcomed.
Tolerated.

There is a difference, and Management has been warned.

The powder absorbs oil, moisture and odour. The coat is refreshed. The room becomes less accusatory.

For long-haired operatives, Management may brush again to remove excess powder. This is called grooming. The Crown calls it harassment with accessories.

Tony inspected the scene afterwards.

No bathwater.
No wet footprints.
No towel casualties.

The Dry Cleaner remains operational.
