The bath was scheduled quietly.

That was optimistic.

The Crown noticed the towel first.

Then the closed bathroom door.

Then the betrayal.

Management explained that this was not punishment. It was coat maintenance. A mild, no-tears, sensitive-skin intervention with no perfume, no colour, and apparently no respect for royal objections.

The Crown disagreed.

A paw was lifted.
A basin was questioned.
Someone attempted to leave through a wall.

PURL Advanced Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo was selected for the delicate file: sensitive skin, suspicious temperament, low tolerance for human ideas.

Gentle lather.
Lukewarm water.
No unnecessary fragrance.
No theatrical additives.

The Crown emerged cleaner, quieter, and deeply offended.

Management considers this progress.

Tony reviewed the bathroom afterwards.

Wet towel.
Clean coat.
No apology.

The Gentle Incident has been recorded as successful.

The suspect remains damp.
