The M-PETS Wichita Cat Scratcher is a low-profile corrugated-paper scratcher for cats that prefer working close to the floor. It measures approximately 45 × 20 × 14cm and includes a catnip sachet to help make the new scratching spot more interesting.

Why it earns its place

The horizontal format is useful for cats that ignore upright posts or like to stretch forward while scratching. The recyclable corrugated surface gives claws something appropriate to work on and can help redirect attention away from sofas, rugs and other household negotiations.

Good to know

Place it near a spot your cat already scratches or rests rather than hiding it in an unused corner. Use the included catnip sparingly if your cat responds to catnip. Corrugated paper is designed to wear down with use, so loose fragments are normal over time. Replace the scratcher when it becomes heavily worn, damaged or unstable. Pairing a floor scratcher with a vertical post gives cats a useful choice of scratching positions.

A note from management

Emergency notice from the Prairie Development Board.

A sudden excavation programme began in the lounge at 05:53. The resident supplied neither plans nor explanation, only a long stare suggesting that permits are a colonial superstition. Work continued through breakfast.

Management has renamed the incident a cultural project and allocated it a modest budget. This was cheaper than intervention. Visitors are asked to admire the progress, avoid the western edge and refrain from asking what is being built. Nothing is being built. That is not the point.
