The AFP Knotty Habit Yarn Dangling Octopus is a soft, lightweight prey toy with a round yarn body and loose octopus-style legs that shift as it is batted or carried. At approximately 13 × 10 × 3.5cm, it is compact enough for quick floor play but gives paws several textured strands to grab. A bell inside adds a gentle sound cue when the toy moves.

Why cats like it

The dangling legs create unpredictable movement, especially when the octopus is nudged across a rug or tossed a short distance. Cats can stalk it, pin it with both front paws, carry it, or kick at the soft body. Move it slowly at first, let the bell attract attention, then pause so your cat can complete the catch. It suits cats that prefer textured, soft targets over hard plastic balls.

Good to know

The toy combines acrylic yarn with internal plastic and bell components. It is intended for supervised enrichment, not chewing or unravelling. Check the yarn legs, body and seams before every session, remove the toy if a strand or component loosens, and store it securely between playtimes.

A note from management

The Octopus does not have eight arms because it needs them.

It has eight arms because delegation is for amateurs.

It arrived hanging casually from the scene, bell attached, yarn everywhere and no intention of explaining itself.

The Crown grabbed one arm.

Three more became involved.

By the time Management reached the hallway, the operation had become personal.

No charges have been filed.

There is too much paperwork.

The Octopus remains available for questioning.

It will bring its own legal team.

All eight of them.
