The AFP Knotty Habit Yarn Ball is a soft, catnip-filled toy designed for batting, chasing, carrying and pouncing. Its chunky yarn texture gives paws and claws an engaging surface to grip, while the lightweight ball shape rolls easily across hard floors during supervised indoor play.

Roll or gently toss the ball to begin a chase, or place it in an open play area where your cat can investigate it independently. Cats that enjoy small prey-style objects may carry it between rooms or pin it with their front paws. Catnip response varies between cats, and kittens may show little interest until they are older.

Play and safety

Inspect the yarn, knots and inner construction before every session. Remove the toy immediately if strands loosen, the ball opens or your cat begins chewing and swallowing fibres. This is an enrichment toy, not a scratching product or edible catnip treat. Store it out of reach between sessions to preserve novelty and prevent unattended chewing.

A note from management

The Knitting Circle meets after dark.

Attendance is restricted to senior household figures, one pastel ball and anyone prepared to confirm that they saw nothing.

No knitting has ever been produced.

Management raised this at the last meeting. The yarn was seized, kicked repeatedly, dragged through the sitting room and eventually deposited beneath a chair. The Crown described this as quality control.

Further inspection revealed catnip concealed inside the ball.

The members called it a craft supply.

The investigation was closed.

The Crown denies belonging to any circle. His name nevertheless appears in the records as Chairman, Treasurer and sole beneficiary. These records have since disappeared.

If you hear rapid movement after midnight, remain in bed. Do not investigate the loose strand in the passage. Do not ask why the curtains are nervous.

The Circle is in session.
