The Old Guard | Senior Cat Essentials

What is available in The Old Guard senior cat collection?

The current Old Guard selection focuses on wet and dry foods for mature or senior cats. Compare the exact recipe, texture, pack size and life-stage guidance rather than choosing solely by the senior wording.

What age is senior cat food intended for?

The intended age range is specified on each food's label and may differ between formulas. Read the exact product details and consider veterinary advice for your cat's needs instead of assuming one age threshold applies to the whole collection.

Is senior food a substitute for a prescribed veterinary diet?

No. A retail mature or senior formula is not automatically suitable for a diagnosed condition or interchangeable with a prescribed diet. Check with your veterinarian before changing food when your cat has an existing health condition.

How should I introduce a new senior cat food?

Follow the new food's transition and portion instructions, taking account of any wet food, dry food and treats already offered. New appetite or weight changes warrant veterinary advice rather than simply changing to a different senior-labelled product.
